Remove the Magazine Disconnector:

Ruger Mk III (Hunter)

When updating the venerable Mk II design in producing the Mk III, Ruger added a little misfeature called a magazine disconnector.  It is supposed to be a safety feature; it prevents the gun from firing without a magazine in it.  In practice this is an annoyance, especially when taking the gun apart.

The good news is that it’s pretty easy to rid yourself of it.
